Whyalla’s local dry cleaners have extended their laundromat to include a new Jesko Industrial Dry-Cleaning Processing Facility.
Maaric Industrial Services completed the project with funding from the federal government’s Regional Jobs and Investment Package.
Together with Jesko Pty Ltd, the project was funded over $340,000 and can now offer additional services while supporting local jobs in Whyalla.
Owner Chris Press is glad the new and improved laundromat can take on more work and offer a range of services to the community.
He is especially excited about the feeder-folder-stacker unit which irons and folds your laundry.
"It irons flat linen, drys it on the way through and then folds it for us. It doubles or triples what we could do by hand," Mr Press said.
The upgraded facility has also improved job security by offering casual staff full-time positions.
Mr Press believes the laundromat will continue to grow this year, particularly with the support of the funding and the new equipment.
