The South Australian premier Steven Marshall met with Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council earlier this week to make a big announcement.
The Premier said the state government will be funding $30,000 to the Clare Classic bike race spread over the next three years.
The Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council will also receive a grant of $145,000 from the government to refurbish the main street.
Mr Marshall said the Clare Valley is a tourist hot spot, which makes this investment all that more important to boost the economy.
The funding will add to the $20,000 the Clare Classic already receives from the local council.
Clare Classic is on April 5th next year, early bird offers are available and you can choose from three courses through Clare Valley:
- 160km Maxi Classic
- 110km Challenge Classic
- 50km Social Classic
