More local volunteer Firefighters were deployed to NSW last week.
Volunteers Anthony Casey of Peterborough, Leon Bentley and Lisa Kruger of Stirling North and Ross Haustorfer of Terowie were among the 50 interstate personnel sent to assist.
Northern NSW has been subjected to four different blazes within a 100km radius.
With NSW crews exhausted, the volunteer’s presence in the area aim to relieve firefighters who have fought against the flames of which destroyed more than eight homes last week.
Predicted rain could potentially alleviate the situation.
This is the second deployment from South Australian CFS workers and volunteers in the last two months.
It is expected that our local volunteers will be home today or tomorrow.
