With last week’s hot temperatures soared in regional SA and hot fire danger season being brought forward in the Flinders, Mid North, and Yorke Peninsula Districts, concerns have been raised about the Governments delay on a revised AlertSA App.
The App alerted residents of emergencies in their area, however was scrapped in 2018 following performance issues
The government pledged to have the app up and running again by the last fire season, however, Emergency Services Minister, Corey Wingard, has admitted that after 2 years of delay, the Marshall Liberal Government will drop its AlertSA plans and simply adopt a fire alert app.
Mr Wingard has said that the app will not be ready until at least December.
