Member for Frome Geoff Brock has announced that improvements are set to be made to the Goyder Highway, between Crystal Brook and the Horrock’s Highway.
Mr Brock began campaigning for road improvements in 2017, after the speed limit on this road was reduced to 100 kmph from 110 kmph as part of a State-wide review of rural roads which were in poor driving condition.
After a survey where 94% of road users supported the initiative, Mr Brock said the community would welcome the speed limit change.
Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government Stephan Knoll said the government is committed to reinstating the speed limits on eight regional roads, effected by lowered speed limits.
It is speculated that the speed limit of Goyder Highway, will return to its original speed limit of 110 at the completion of the works.
